THE second Test between West Indies and England will bowl off on Thursday in Manchester.

The Caribbean side is one-up in the three-match series after defeating their opponents by four wickets on Sunday.

Both batsmen and bowlers contributed to this victory with some skilful stroke-play from Jermaine Blackwood who stopped just short of his century, on 95 runs, in the second innings of the match.

Windies captain Jason Holder was impressive from the start as he took his first 6-wicket haul in the first innings.

Just as effective was Shannon Gabriel who got nine scalps in both innings and was named player of the match.

Eyes are now on England after Joe Denly was dropped for the upcoming match to make room for Joe Root.

He returned from paternity leave and will retain his captaincy from stand-in Ben Stokes.
