2 Months’ Hard Labour for 49 Marijuana Trees

AN Erin man has been sentenced to two months’ hard labour for cultivating marijuana.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers went to an area near Partap Trace, Arena Village on Sunday and saw Kelly Junior Lall standing near his home, among some vegetation.

An investigation was done and 49 fully-grown marijuana trees were found planted in the ground as well as in several containers on the property.

Lall was detained and charged the same day.

He appeared virtually before Magistrate Aden Stroude at the Siparia Magistrates’ Court, on Monday.

Police went to an area located near Partap Trace, Arena Village, Erin where they observed Lall near his home, among some vegetation.

Further investigation revealed a total of 49 fully-grown marijuana trees, planted in the ground as well as in several containers on the property.

Investigations were conducted by Cpls Lake and Prince, WPC Hospedales and members of the South Western Division Task Force.
