A 43-year-old Enterprise woman has been charged with the murder of her common-law husband.
Judith Lakhan appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie last Friday.
Police reports are that Lakhan’s husband, Likhram Primlal, allegedly got into an argument with a woman who lives at the same address on December 30, 2022.
He reportedly left the premises and returned sometime later, when he was allegedly stabbed by the woman with a knife. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was subsequently detained by officers of the Chaguanas Police Station.
Investigations were supervised by Supt Dhillpaul, ASP Persad and Insp Hosein, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three.
Lakhan was charged with the offence by acting Cpl Griffith, also of HBI Region Three, on January 5, 2022 following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore Paul on that same date.
Lakhan is expected to reappear in court on February 3 a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated.
