ALMOST all of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) water treatment plants and production wells are up and running after the electricity outage in Trinidad yesterday.
A release by WASA stated that its Aripo and North Coast facilities were still being restarted.
It stated that the Point Lisas and Point Fortin Desalination Plants, owned and operated by Desalcott and Seven Seas Water respectively, have also restarted.
But it noted that it was still in the process of ramping up operations towards full production later today.
It stated that most of its booster stations were still offline while the transmission pipeline systems continues to recharge and this will allow for the systematic restart of the facilities.
WASA stated that it may take up to 24 and 72 hours for its treatment plants and booster stations to return to full operation.
