THE United Nation Congress wins the popular vote in the the 2023 Local Government Elections that were held on Monday.
Preliminary results release by the Elections and Boundaries Commission showed that the UNC received 173,961 votes with the People’s National Movement (PNM) getting 130,868 and the National Transformation Alliance attaining 15,997.
With an electorate of 1,091,935 in 141 electoral districts in Trinidad, there was a voter turn-out of 30.34% with a total of 331,300 votes being cast with 996 rejected ballots.
