Tucker Leaves TKR for International Duty

IRELAND international Lorcan Tucker leaves Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) as they move into the knockout stage of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 next week.

TKR take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in their last group-stage game tonight at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Tucker takes up international duty with Ireland against England in three One-Day Internationals from September 20.

In a video announcing Tucker’s departure, TKR Captain Kieron Pollard thanked him for helping to ensure stability in the middle order.

Coach Phil Simmons said his departure comes at a crucial point in the CPL schedule, but the decision was understood.

Although TKR take on GAW both team who will finish first and second on the six-team table will play in the first Qualifier. The winner goes straight into the finals next week on Sunday (September 24).

While the loser will have a second bite at the cherry and play the winner of the first eliminator on Tuesday. The St Lucia Kings have already qualified for that match.
