THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has received high commendation from senior Indian security officials following the successful conclusion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Trinidad and Tobago.
On Friday, Director of India’s elite Special Protection Group (SPG) Alok Sharma and Inspector General Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat, extended their gratitude to Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Terrence Pierre at a meeting.
The Indian delegation conveyed their sincere appreciation for the TTPS’ outstanding operational planning and professionalism, which ensured that the high-level engagement was executed without incident, the TTPS stated in a media release.
 Both Sharma and Bhagat described the efforts of the TTPS and all supporting agencies as exceptional, citing the seamless coordination, strategic readiness, and dignified conduct of local law enforcement throughout the duration of the visit.
 “The TTPS acknowledges the contributions of all partner agencies and stakeholders whose commitment to excellence made this operation a success” the release stated.
Guevarro also gave special commendations to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Junior Benjamin, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Garvin Henry and Superintendent Special Branch Mark Balkaran, for their hard work, dedication and excellent coordination.
Guevarro also reiterated the organisation’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of service and security and expressed gratitude for the international recognition.
The TTPS stated it remained steadfast in its mission to safeguard all residents and visitors to the Trinidad and Tobago with professionalism, vigilance, and integrity.
Modi concluded his two-day visit to Trinidad and Tobago on Friday afternoon.
During his visit, there was intense police presence in and around the areas where he was, traffic restrictions in Por of Spain and strict security measures at all venues where he was carded to be.
