PERMISSION has been granted for the opening of all air and seaports for passengers arriving into Trinidad and Tobago.
In a press release on Sunday, Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds stated that all aircraft and sea vessels were officially now allowed into the country effective on Saturday under regulation seven of the Public Health Ordinance.
However, persons entering into Trinidad and Tobago are still expected to abide by the laws of the country including the Immigration Act Ch 18:01 and the Ministry of Health Quarantine Protocols for Passengers.
Hinds said individuals entering the country should monitor government publications as the provisions of the Emergency Powers Regulations and the Public Health Regulations will be enforced and the Ministry of National Security will continue to monitor the developments in order to safeguard the population.
The borders were officially opened on Saturday, after being closed since March last year.
