AN elderly woman has died from Covid-19.
She is now the ninth person to have died from the coronavirus in Trinidad and Tobago.
A release by the Health Ministry just after 3 pm on Friday, stated that the latest death was of an elderly women with pre-existing medical conditions.
It stated, “While the Chief Medical Officer was informed of the death at 12.15 pm, the Ministry ensured that the public release of the information was delayed until the family was informed and had ample time to process the information.
“It is hoped that patient confidentiality would be respected and that the family would be allowed to mourn in peace.”
It noted that reports of five Covid-19 related deaths at the Caura Hospital on Thursday were false.
