THE travel ban previously imposed by the Ministry of Health on certain African countries, due to the presence of the Covid-19 variant of concern, has been lifted.
In a media release on Sunday, the ministry stated that the travel restrictions have removed with immediate effect.
Restrictions were removed from Botswana, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The ministry is also reminding the public that all other existing entry requirements, as indicated in the TTravel Pass website, must be adhered to, inclusive of a negative nasopharyngeal (nasal swab) RT-PCR test result taken no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival in Trinidad and Tobago.
The ministry stated that it will continue to assess the developing situation and advise the population of any adjustments to the health travel advisory, as required.
