THE Trinidad and Tobago national women’s football team have is one step further to the World Cup qualifier after holding Guyana in a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.
At the nail-biting match at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago, the T&T flag was flown high by supporters.
Praising the team’s effort, head coach Kenwyne Jones said the women displayed that team spirit in the latter part of the game.
Jones, speaking after the match said, “They prepared for them (Guyana) and they did quite well.”
Guyana Women Football Team Coach Ivan Joseph described the women Soca Warriors as a worthy adversary.
And Minister of Sport Shamfa Cudjoe described the moment as “historic.”
