TRINIDAD and Tobago national Darrion Narine is the first person from his country to be a mace bearer leading the Queen into Westminster Abby in London on Monday.
The occasion was the annual Commonwealth Day Service.
The televised event was also the last time that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan would have appeared as senior royals.
On Twitter with a photo, Narine said, “This is me leading the Queen and the Royal Family as the Mace Bearer. Repping Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. Never Doubt the influence and strength of Caribbean people. Happy Commonwealth Day everyone.”
After ascending to the throne in 1952, Queen Elizabeth II, now 93, has embraced the 54-nation organization.
