THE Trinbago Knight Riders maintain their unbeaten run in the 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with a 19-run victory over the Jamaica Tallawahs on Tuesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
After being sent in to bat, TKR posted an imposing 184 for four thanks to a 54-ball 65 by Collin Munro.
Sunil Narine made a blistering 29 from 11 balls that included five 4s and one 6.
He was out when the score was on 32. His opening partner Simmons got to 25 before he was caught off the bowling of Sandeep Lamichhane.
Captain Kieron Pollard was unbeaten on 33.
The Tallawahs did not get off to a proper start with Chadwick Wallton being caught by Narine in the gully off the bowling of Akeal Hosein in the first ball of the innings.
The other opener Glenn Phillips got to 42 before he was caught by the wicketkeeper Tim Seifert off the bowing of Dwayne Bravo.
Nkrumah Booner got to 26 before he was lbw by Fawad Ahmed. But it was Andre Russell in the end who was unbeaten on 50 off 23 ball who gave Jamaica any glimmer of hope.
The Tallawahs completed their 20 overs on 165 for six.
