THE Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) continue their winning ways in defeating the Barbados Tridents by 19 runs in the ninth match of the 2020 tournament, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Sunday.
Opener Lendl Simmons started off the batting and managed to put 21 runs on the board before he was bowled by Jason Holder.
Colin Munro got to his half century in 30 balls while Darren Bravo also contributed with a bat.
He was unbeaten on 54 and TKR captain Kieron Pollard was not out on 41.
TKR lost only three wickets as they posted an impressive 186 runs on the board.
The Tridents had a good start with Johnson Charles who got to his half century from 33 run before he was bowled by Fawad Ahmed.
Also getting into double figures was Shai Hope, Jason Holder and Ashley Nurse.
However, it proved futile as they could only muster 166 runs in their 20 over innings.
Monroe was named player of the match.
This is the second loss for the Tridents which means they only have two points and are fifth on the table just ahead of Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots, with zero points.
CPL action continues as the St Lucia Zouks play against the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the same venue.
TKR remain at the top of the standings.
