Maicoo, 62, recently faced health challenges and was discharged from the San Fernando General Hospital on March 14 after a six-week stay.
Unfortunately, she suffered a relapse on Sunday morning and was transferred to the ICU at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

Susan Maicoo, a retired teacher from Siparia Union Presbyterian Primary School, was known for her vibrant Christmas hits, including “Trini Christmas is the Best,” “Where Daisy Gone,” and “Dance, Dance, Dance.” Her music brought joy to many during the holiday season.

Maicoo’s health struggles began when she was admitted to the hospital on February 11, suffering from severe backaches and abdominal pain. A CT scan revealed that her organs were severely affected by sepsis, a life-threatening infection. Despite initial improvements, her condition worsened, leading to her untimely death.
