SPECIAL Reserve Police (SRP) Sherwin John has been charged with the murder of his wife, 28-year-old Vera Golabie, at their Matura home, on July 30.
He is also charged with common assault against a female victim.
Golabie was in the yard of her Church Street home when she got into an altercation with a man and was stabbed multiple times in her neck.

A female relative, who witnessed the incident, was threatened by the man before he left the premises and drove off, police said.
Golabie died at the scene.

The 27-year-old suspect surrendered himself at the Matura Police Station on the same date.
Charges were laid on Monday, after instructions from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard.
