Sauce Doubles Vendor Critical After Home Invasion

A member of the popular Sauce Doubles family is in a critical condition at hospital after being shot twice at his home early on Thursday.

Amar Hosein is warded at the Eric Williams Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.

Police said he was shot in his hand and head during a home invasion at his Orange Grove, Tunapuna, home at around 3am.

Reports indicated that Hosein heard noises inside his home and went to investigate.

He was ambushed by the intruder and shot twice, police said.

The intruder escaped.

There were at least two incidents in the past concerning employees of Sauce Doubles.

Last December, Kareem Jervis, a vendor working at Curepe Junction was killed by bandits.

And in August 2019, Sauce doubles vendor Shazard Manick was fatally shot in the head and chest during a robbery also at Curepe.
