PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley has arrived in the United Kingdom for the COP26 World Leaders Summit of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference at the SEC, Glasgow.
On the Prime Minister’s Facebook page, there is a photo of Dr Rowley greeting Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson.
On Saturday, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh made the announcement that from today (Monday) alcohol can once again be consumed in specified areas. He said he was authorised by the Prime Minister to make the announcement as Dr Rowley was traveling.
This year, the UK will host the 26th UNFCCC Conference of the Parties, COP26, in Glasgow from November 1-12. A complementary Youth Summit is planned for 28-30 September in Milan, as the UK and Italy share this year’s COP Presidency.
The theme is “Measurement for our planet, Providing confidence in climate action” and will focus on six key topics.
They include climate measurement including earth observation, greenhouse gas emissions measurement, energy vector and infrastructure, agriculture, forestry and other land use, decarbonisation of transport and advanced manufacturing and materials for net zero.
