RDLG Issues River Advisory

THE Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government has issued a river level advisory from Saturday at 5 pm.

It stated, “Tide is currently rising and with an expected high tide at 11.01 pm and low tide at 6.54 am.”

RDLG highlighted the following rivers and their capacities:

  • Aripo River – 30%

  • Caparo – 32%

  • Caroni (Bamboo Settlement  # 3) – 58%

  • El Carmen (Caroni River) – 57%

  • North Oropouche  (Toco Road) – 50 %

  • South Oropoucher – 55%

Due to rising tide, the public should expect slower water runoff, and such affected communities are urged to call relevant Disaster Management Units.
