THE Public Transport Service Commission (PTSC) is no longer accepting cotton notes.
In a notice, PTSC stated that as of Monday (December 13), banknotes of the denominations of $1 $5 $10 $20 and $50 bearing series dates before 2020 will no longer be accepted at any PTSC cashiers.
This is in accordance with the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago’s notice that these bills will no longer be considered legal tender as of January 1, 2022.
PTSC also stated that although cotton notes will soon no longer be legal tender, the Central Bank will exchange these notes indefinitely after January 1, 2022.
