RETIRED Justice of Appeal Judith Jones and Maxine Attong are two nominees to fill the vacant Police Service Commission (PolSC).
A release by the Office of the President on Tuesday said that President Paula-Mae Weekes had consulted with Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar by letters dated October 7.
It stated that on Tuesday, President Weekes has issued notifications for Justice Jones and Attong as nominees for appointment to the Police Service Commission.
The notifications have been delivered to the Clerk of the House of Representatives, the release stated.
The PolSC remains with no commissioners after four of them resigned in recent time regarding issues surrounding the appointment of a new commissioner of police.
It takes three commissioners to form a quorum in the PolSC.
