RENOWNED T20 cricketer Nicholas Pooran has entered into a long-term partnership with bmobile, Trinidad and Tobago’s leading communications provider.
This collaboration aims to inspire and empower young cricketers both on and off the field, a release by bmobile stated on Monday.
Currently playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Pooran, 28, hopes to secure his first-ever CPL title while using his new role with bmobile to inspire future athletes.
“I’m truly excited about this partnership with bmobile. It’s a chance to motivate upcoming generations in every aspect of their lives,” said Pooran.
He said, “With bmobile’s support, I’m confident we can make a meaningful difference in communities across the country.”
As bmobile’s latest brand ambassador, Pooran joins Olympic medalist Keshorn Walcott in representing the company. Both athletes exemplify hard work, determination, and excellence—qualities that bmobile values in its commitment to nurturing sporting talent.
Kent Western, Acting CEO of TSTT, said, “Nicholas Pooran is a global role model. His achievements resonate with bmobile’s mission to inspire greatness and build a better future for the next generation.”
Pooran’s career highlights include playing for over 25 teams internationally, including the West Indies and Trinidad & Tobago senior teams. His recent record of 144 T20 sixes in a calendar year surpasses Chris Gayle’s previous record, cementing his status as a cricketing powerhouse, the release stated.
Pooran said, “Being part of the bmobile family is an honor. Their support keeps me connected with family and friends wherever I am.”
Reflecting on his role as a mentor, Pooran said, “It’s humbling when young cricketers want to be like me. This partnership will help me contribute to developing the next wave of talent in Trinidad and Tobago.”
Determined to lead TKR to victory, Pooran aims to secure his first CPL title and bring home a historic fifth title for the franchise.
He said, “My goal is to finally lift the CPL trophy and make Trinidad and Tobago proud. We’ve got a strong team, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get us over the line.”
