MALABAR – POLICE have arrested a 34-year-old man who held two of his relatives against their will at their home at Harrinanan Avenue in Malabar on Wednesday.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), Guard and Emergency Branch and the Northern Division Task Force responded to reports that a woman and her daughter were being held hostage.
The release stated that after two hours of negotiations, the victims were released unharmed.
It stated that the exercise was led by Sgt Mark Hernandez of SORT and supervised by Senior Superintendent Curt Paul and ASP Niam Gyan of the Northern Division.
