A STOLEN vehicle was recovered within an hour after it was snatched from its elderly owner.
Police reported on Tuesday, a 68-year-old retiree was robbed of his Hyundai Elantra while attempting to secure it.
Around 8.30pm, two assailants approached the vehicle’s owner from behind, covered his face and proceeded to lift the keys from the owner’s pockets.
A scuffle ensued, and eventually the robbers got away with the keys and the vehicle.
By 9.45pm that night, PC Joefield and PC Morris discovered the vehicle in Pt Cumana, Carenage, where it was recovered completely intact.
Investigations into the robbery are continuing.
The TTPS reminded the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to be vigilant when it comes safety.
