THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is maintaining a heightened security posture as they monitor regional developments related to the US military attacks on Venezuela.
In a press release on Saturday the TTPS stated, “The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) advises the national community that it has been closely monitoring recent regional developments and has already implemented a series of precautionary operational measures to ensure the continued safety and security of the nation.”
The TTPS stated strategic operations had been activated to anticipate any risks and ensure T&T remains secure in “periods of uncertainty.”
Emphasizing these actions were just precautionary, the TTPS stated all measures were designed to ensure readiness and continuity of the TTPS should circumstances evolve.
The TTPS urged all citizens to remain calm and report any suspicious activity to the police.
They stated, “Public vigilance, paired with responsible information sharing, remains an essential component of national resilience.”
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro confirmed the TTPS had the situation under constant review and would update the public accordingly.
