CHAGUANAS  West MP Dr Colin Neil Gosine has pushed back against recent comments suggesting he is not active in the constituency, saying he has been regularly on the ground meeting residents and working with agencies on long-standing infrastructure problems.

In a statement on Facebook, Gosine said he has been “physically walking and visiting different parts of the constituency every other week — sometimes more,” to inspect problem areas and hear concerns directly from residents.

He also highlighted weekly constituency office hours, saying his office is open every Thursday from 2 pm to 7 pm and that he remains until the last person is seen. “No one who comes to see me is turned away,” he said, adding that accessibility and presence are important.

Gosine said that in recent months he has been coordinating with relevant agencies on pothole repairs, drainage assessments, flooding concerns and follow-up on road conditions in multiple areas.

Acknowledging that problems remain, he said roads and infrastructure issues— including concerns raised about roads from Chaguanas to Felicity and other areas—have been noted for follow-up.

“Public service is not about social media presence — it is about consistent, on-the-ground work,” Gosine said, adding that he remains committed to serving residents regardless of political support.
