POLICE have killed two men after kidnapping and robbery in Chaguanas on Wednesday.
Officers received information from one the victims and went to a house at Lion Boulevard, Enterprise, Chaguanas at around 5.30 pm.
They were greeted by gunfire as they approached the residence.
The officers, in keeping with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Use of Force Policy, returned fire, wounding two of the six suspects, a release from the TTPS stated.
Police recovered two loaded revolvers from the wounded men and they were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility.
They were pronounced dead on arrival. The police officers were no injured.
The victims were abducted at gunpoint after meeting the six suspects at Rodney Road, Endeavour, police said.
They were robbed and taken to a house in Enterprise where they were held and beaten for about hours. But were able to escape and make a report to police.
They were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where they were treated. They were subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope for further examination.
The exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Simon, Supt Mystar and ASP Pierre and included Ag Supt John of the Central Division Operations Unit/Chaguanas Division Task Force (CDTF).
