Police Find Teenager After Ransom Call

TUNAPUNA – POLICE have rescued a teenager who was reported kidnapped on Friday.

Officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) rescued 18-year-old Kadysha Charles after a report was made by a female relative to the San Juan Police Station.

The relative told police she received a phone call from an unknown number and heard Kadysha crying.

The relative said that Kadysha reported that three men had taken her to an unknown location.

A male voice said that he would call back in one hour and subsequently demanded a ransom of $30,000.

Acting on information, SORT went to Auzonville Mall, Tunapuna at around 3.45 p.m. on Friday, where Kadysha was discovered in a bathroom changing her clothes.

She appeared unharmed and was presently assisting police in the investigation.
