Police Charge Bar Owner for Being Open for Business

DESPITE the public health regulations, police have charged a bar owner for allegedly conducting sales.

Police reported on Monday that Rajendra Arjoon, of Hermitage Village, San Fernando, was arrested for conducting sales from a bar.

Officers PCs Maharaj and Singh were on mobile patrol along Dumfries Road, Hermitage Village, San Fernando on Monday when they said they Hill View Bar was open for business and the owner, Arjoon, 58,  reportedly conducting sales contrary to the provisions of Section 3(1) of the Emergency Powers Regulations.

Arjoon is expected to appear at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to answer to the charges.
