POLITICAL Leader of the People’s National Movement (PNM) Dr Keith Rowley and a team from the party met with representatives of the CARICOM Election Observer Mission on Friday.
The meeting followed an earlier session between a delegation led by Prime Minister Stuart Young and the Observer team earlier this week, stated in a media release.

In welcoming the delegation, Dr Rowley highlighted the importance of their role in supporting electoral processes across the region.
It stated Chief of Mission Ian Hughes, Supervisor of Elections in Antigua and Barbuda, led the seven-member CARICOM Observer team.

Other members included His Excellency Felix Gregoire of Dominica, Fatima Gordon of Belize, Clement Rohee of Guyana, Ramon Alleyne of Barbados, Angella Prendergast and Serojnine Seetaram, both from the CARICOM Secretariat.
Representing the PNM were Colm Imbert, Deputy Political Leader – Legislative; Camille Robinson-Regis, Lady Vice Chairman; Fitzgerald Hinds, Special Advisor to the Political Leader; Indar Parasram, Party Elections Officer; and member Taharqa Obika.
It stated that discussions focused on the electoral process in Trinidad and Tobago, current matters, prevailing circumstances, and the general confidence in the CARICOM missions.
The PNM stated that it remains committed to supporting democracy and ensuring free and fair elections in Trinidad and Tobago.
