A 33-YEAR-OLD man was found by his parents strangled on Tuesday night.
Police reports are that around 7pm on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a body found at Palm Drive, Dow Village, South Oropouche.
On arrival, they spoke with Vincent Johnitty and Myrna Johnitty, parents of Ryan Johnitty, 33, who reported that they found their son dead in his home.
Robbery is the suspected motive as Ryan Johnitty’s vehicle White Kia Optima, registration number PCW 6701, was missing.
Johnitty, a plant-operator at the Trinidad Generation Limited (TGU), had worked a 12-hour shift on Monday.
The Johnitty explained to officers that they visited their son that evening, as he had not contacted them throughout the day, which was unusual for him.
The officers observed Ryan lying on his back with a wound to his neck, a belt and black cord around his neck and a white plastic bag covering his head.
District Medical Officer Dr Dubrey visited the scene, viewed the body, made the pronouncement and ordered its removal for a post mortem at the Forensic Science Centre.
Police Constable Francois is leading investigations.
