THE Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) make it a perfect ten as they ease pass St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in both teams’ last game in the group stage on the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 on Sunday.
At the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, the Patriots won the toss and decided to bat. It was a decision they rued as they were bowled out for 77 – the fifth lowest score in the Caribbean Premier League.
Wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin to scored 19 and was caught by Darren Bravo off Ali Khan.
Skipper Rayad Emrith got to 15 and was bowled by Fawad Ahmed.
Patriots also became the first team in the CPL not to hit a four in an innings, mustering only five 6s.
Man of the match Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 21 runs in his allotted four overs.
TKR made light work of the target with Tion Webster getting to 41 not out but his opening partner Amir Jangoo was caught by Ramdin off Emrith.
Tim Seifert coming in at number three, was 16 not out at the end. TKR needed only 11.3 overs to win the game. TKR have a perfect 20 points from ten games.
The 2020 CPL T20 semi-finals have been decided with TKR playing the Jamaica Tallawahs and last year’s runners-up Guyana Amazon Warriors taking on the St Lucia Zouks. Both games are on Tuesday with the winners going into the finals on Thursday.
