Patriots Get First Win in 2020 CPL

ST Kitts and Nevis Patriots get their first win in CPL 2020 as they beat Barbados Tridents by six wickets in the 11th match of the tournament the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Tuesday.
Tridents openers Johnson Charles and Shai Hope were patient in the middle as they averaged one run a ball before they fell to the bowling of Jon-Russ Jagessar – Charles on 24 and Hope on 25.
Kyle Mayers got to 22 but he was caught by wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin off the bowing of Sohail Tanvir.

Corey Anderson and Ashley Nurse also contributed with the bat before they were sent back to the dugout on 31 and 25 respectively.

The Tridents, in their 20 overs, posted 151/7 giving the Patriots a target of 152 runs for victory.
Jagessar had taken two of the seven wickets that had fallen.
In reply, the Patriots meant business with Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis opening the batting.

Lynn however was LBW to Rashid Khan on 16.

The player of the match was Lewis who scored 89 runs in 60 balls before he was bowled by Mayers and sent one right into the hands of Khan.
Mayers was the pick of the bowlers taking two wickets while the most economical for the Tridents was captain Jason Holder, with a rate of 4.50.
With this win, the Patriots have two points and remain sixth on the CPL points table.
The next match will be played at the same venue, starting at 5:30pm.
That one is between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs.
