THE Pan Trinbago Eastern Region will hold its first Steelpan and Powder Parade under the patronage of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation on Saturday from 5 pm.
It’s called the Steelpan and Powder Paradein ‘Puna.
This was confirmed in a media release from Pan Trinbago on Wednesday.
The parade’s route will start at El Dorado Road, Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna and will make its way to the Republic Bank Exodus Steelband Panyard.
At the starting point, there will be performances from the Tunapana Tipica Steel Orchestra, Simple Song Steel Orchestra and Augmented Groove Steel Orchestra.
The bp Renegades Steel Orchestra, Sangre Grande Cordettes Steel Orchestra, Arima Angel Harps Steel Orchestra and Massy Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra will perform en route to the end point.
At the end point in the Republic Bank Exodus Panyard, there will be performances from Curepe Scherzando Steelband Co-operative, Pamberi Steel Orchestra, First Citizens Supernovas Steel Orchestra and Republic Bank Exodus Steelband.
The parade is set to become a major cultural event that celebrates community spirit, creativity and the music of the steelpan, Pan Trinbago stated.
The parade is free admission and open to all.
