ONE of the support staff who accompanied Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley to a gas conference in Doha, Qatar is Covid-19 positive.
The Office of the Prime Minister in a press release on Monday stated that the officer had tested negative via a PCR test before departure and again tested negative on arrival at the airport in Qatar.
A subsequent test at the hotel produced a positive result. The officer is currently in isolation and under medical supervision, the release stated.
The release stated, “The test results for the other members of the delegation remain negative.”
Dr Rowley is in Doha along with Energy Minister Stuart Young, President of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago, Mark Loquan and Chairman of Caribbean Airlines, Ronnie Mohammed.
The delegation is attending the Sixth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.
