THE Republic of Korea now has a new ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago.
National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds met with Ambassador Dongil Oh, on Tuesday in an introductory meeting.
Oh assumed duties at the Korean Embassy in T&T in September.
In a press release on Tuesday, the ministry stated, “The Minister underscored his commitment to the existing bilateral security cooperation with the Republic of Korea and encouraged expanding collaboration, towards increasing the safety and security of all in Trinidad and Tobago.”
Oh also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, as well as the opportunity to advance relations between Korea and T&T.
Discussions focused on capacity building in the areas of law enforcement and forensic analysis, the ministry stated.
Also in attendance were Deputy Director of the International Affairs Unit at the Ministry of National Security retired Major Richard Lynch and senior researcher at the Embassy Dr Kyungeun Park.
