NO one is allowed to collect donations on behalf of the Candlelight Movement or Randolph Bharatt.

A release from the Candlelight Movement on Sunday stated that donations to the movement should be made directly to committee members where an official receipt will be generated.

The release stated, “The Bharatt family expresses their sincerest gratitude to all who have chosen to support them in any way in their time of grief however, this release has become necessary due to information that unauthorised persons may be soliciting donations on the family’s behalf and to remind the public no such person have been appointed.”

More information can be obtained by calling Felicia Holder at 769-4590 or WhatApp 486-2888 or 471-2888, the release stated.

Bharatt had been dubbed Daddy Bharatt after the death of his daughter Andrea.

The Candlelight Movement was formed after vigils were held throughout the country following Andrea’s murder. The peaceful vigils called for better protection for the women of Trinidad and Tobago.

A petition had been established by the Candlelight Movement to have measures in place to protect women.
