NO foreigner has died from Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.
This is according to epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds.
However, he admitted he may be wrong since emphasis was not placed on nationality when dealing with Covid-19 patients.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health’s virtual press conference on Wednesday Dr Hinds said only locals accounted for the 1,000 Covid-19 deaths record in T&T as of July 20, 2021.
He said that nationality was not one of the main pieces of information collected from Covid-19 patients.
Dr Hinds said, “It is not one of the fields that is being calculated or tabulated to disaggregate the data.”
He added that very small numbers of persons who contracted Covid-19 have been identified as non-nationals.
“I do not believe, but I could wrong, that any of the fatalities that we have noted were noted among non-nationals.
“Maybe they may have been. We are counting everyone as human beings living breathing on land master T&T,” Dr Hinds said.
