THE Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (UDeCOTT) has gotten a new board.
Instruments of appointment were formally presented at a ceremony held on Monday.
The members of the Board are:
•Shankar Bidaisee – Chairman
•Peter Kanhai – Deputy Chairman
•Dr Robelto Osborne – Director
•Hema Soondarsingh – Director
•Omkarnath Supersad-Maharaj – Director
•Indira Bansee – Director
In her address during the ceremony Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John expressed appreciation to the appointees for answering the call to national service.
She said, “UDeCOTT is poised to play a pivotal role in the country’s infrastructural development and can be a powerful force for transformation as Trinidad and Tobago pivots toward economic diversification. I encourage the board to remain resolute and people-focused in the delivery of results that reflect UDeCOTT’s guiding principle: Signed. Sealed. Delivered.”
New Chairman Shankar Bidaisee listed three core principles to guide the board’s work: compliance with procurement regulations, adherence to project timelines and delivery within budget.
He encouraged fellow directors to lead with integrity, accountability and a commitment to national development.
Bidaisee said, “Let us lead in a way that makes the country proud and contributes meaningfully to Trinidad and Tobago’s progress.”
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure extended congratulations to the newly appointed board and offered its full support as they assume responsibility for strategic oversight and leadership. “With their collective insight and commitment, UDeCOTT is well-positioned to continue shaping a modern and resilient infrastructural landscape for the benefit of Trinidad and Tobago,” the ministry stated in a media release.
