THE North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) confirms that one its nurses passed away on Thursday due to a severe allergic reaction to seafood.
In a release on Sunday, the NCRHA stated that the nurse was attached to the Palliative Care Unit at the Caura Hospital and that her death was not due to the care of Covid-19 patients.
The release stated:
The NCRHA is saddened by the sudden passing of one of our dedicated nurses from a severe allergic reaction to seafood on Thursday April 23.
The nurse was attached to the Palliative Care Unit at the Caura Hospital and was at work when the tradegy occurred.
The NCRHA sends our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of our cherished staff member and the Authority is aware of the rumours emerging that links her untimely death with the care of patients with Covid-19 disease.
This is not the case.
