FOUR out of the five escaped prisoners will now have to serve more time in jail.
Kevin Jagdeo, Theon Thomas, Kurien Douglas and Shaquille Drayton, were sentenced to two years, eight months each to run consecutively, on the completion of their current sentences.
They were sentenced by Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay on Wednesday when they appeared at the Arima Magistrates’ Court.
The fifth escapee Anthony Seepersad was held while hiding in the trunk of a car in St James earlier today. A video his capture has gone viral on social media.
Police also arrested the driver of the vehicle.
The five men all escaped on Sunday night from the Golden Grove Prison after removing a galvanize in a dormitory. All have been recaptured by police.
