Spread the love

By Sue-Ann Wayow

AS hundreds of families across the country scramble to get back to some sort of normalcy following Wednesday’s floods, the public is being asked to assist in sponsoring a meal for just $15 for those most affected.

SEWA TT has already distributed 1,000 Subway meals to flood victims as at 6 pm on Wednesday.

The volunteers were also thanked as well as the Disaster Management Units, Local Government, and Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) for providing physical and coordinating resources.

SEWA TT’s President Revan Teelucksingh told AZP News on Thursday morning that areas were still monitored.

He said, “The South Oropouche basin, meaning Barrackpore, Penal, Debe and Woodland have the worst floods right now. The Caroni basin, St Helena etc water now rising expectation is in 24 hours it will be worse.”
