MORE than a year after reporting the suicide of Nandita Harbukhan, her common-law husband is charged for her murder.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in a release stated that 39-year-old engineer Rishi Ramgoolam, of Haleland Park in Maraval, has been charged by officers of the Cold Case Unit on Monday.
The release stated that the charge was laid after extensive investigations into the August 23, 2018 death of Harbukhan at her Haleland Park home.
Investigations were conducted under the supervision of ACPs Nurse and James along with Sgt Theophilus and Cpl Nurse of the Maraval Police Station.
The release stated that the investigations led to the arrest of Ramgoolam at the Piarco International Airport on Friday.
Ramgoolam was charged by Sgt Theophilus after advice was received by the Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard.
