THE Lady Young Road is now closed to vehicular traffic.
The closure occurs from the walkover to Hilton Trinidad and Conference Contre.
The Ministry of Works and Transport in a media release on Saturday evening stated, “This is to ensure the safety of road users due to landslides along the roadway caused by the inclement weather. Motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes.”
The Ministry’s technical team is currently on-site to remove debris and material in an attempt to restore connectivity in the shortest possible timeframe, the release stated.
Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan visited the site to monitor the removal of the debris.
Additionally, the Manzanilla Mayaro Road continues to remain closed to the public.
