WEST Indies players who performed well in the recently concluded 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League have been rewarded with selection on the regional squad for the tour of India starting in November.
Brandon King, who topped the run-scoring in the CPL with 496 runs, and the leading wicket-taker Hayden Walsh Jr with 22 wickets at an average of a wicket every 9.1 balls, have both been called-up. They both make it into the white-ball squads for the first time.
Lendl Simmons who finished second in the runs table is in the T20 team.
Kieron Pollard the captain of the limited-overs squads is joined by West Indies Test Captain Jason Holder who is in all three teams.
But Carlos Brathwaite, the former T20 captain, did not make it to any of the teams.
Jamaicans Andre Russell and Chris Gayle have been dropped from all teams and Trinidadians Darren Bravo and Shannon Gabriel are noticeable absent from the test team.
West Indies will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and a Test against Afghanistan in Dehradun in India between November 5 and December 1.
