JOE Biden is the Democrats choice to fight Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential elections in the United States (US).
The BBC reported that Biden was appointed at the party’s convention, following testimonials from elder statesmen.
They were former Democratic Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter as well as former State Secretary Colin Powell, a Republican.
Polls indicate that Trump trails Biden in opinion polls ahead of November’s election.
Biden, the former vice-president under President Barack Obama, became his party’s nominee on Tuesday night in a pre-recorded roll call vote from delegates in all 50 states.
This is his third White House bid, having formerly run in 1988 and 2008.
