“TO the young people, never let anyone tell you that you cannot do something because of who your parents are.”
This is the advice coming from Patriotic Front candidate for Claxton Bay Thelston Jagoo.

Jagoo, on Thursday night strongly defended his political leader Mickela Panday who is being criticised by many United National Congress (UNC) loyalists and accused of splitting votes to ensure another People’s National Movement (PNM) win in the 2025 General Election.
Panday was the main speaker at a public meeting held at the Macaulay Community Centre.
Jagoo who spoke before Panday, said the verbal attacks on her were shameful just because she was Basdeo Panday’s daughter.
He declared, “I say, be proud of your lineage! Listen, if I had a father like Basdeo Panday, I would talk about that man every day.”
Jagoo, 35, said, “We learn from those who inspire us. In this world so many children choose to follow in the footsteps of their parents, because their parents have inspired them. What is wrong with that?”
He said he knew many professionals, doctors, lawyers and businessmen and women who went into those professions because of their parents.
Jagoo referenced the Bush family in the US and the Manning family in Trinidad and Tobago as Brian Manning, the son of former prime minister Patrick Manning has also joined the political circle.
He further advised the young people, “Never let anyone tell you that you cannot achieve what you want to achieve in this life because of where you were born or who you were born to. Never let desperate politicians or hateful people tell you to not pursue your dreams.”
Many young people wanted to serve in the party, but were fearful, jaded and did not want to participate in the toxic political system, Jagoo said.
He encouraged, “You choose your path, you choose your destiny and most of all you choose who to vote for on April 28th 2025.”
Also speaking on the platform was candidate for San Fernando East Kenrick Serrette who focused on youth development and candidate for Tabaquite Amzad Mohammed who said a vote for him would mean a vote for better communities in Tabaquite.
