DEPUTY Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Mc Donald Jacob is now officially the accounting officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
His appointment which came into effect on Friday was sanctioned by Finance Minister Colm Imbert.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Finance stated in a press release, “The Minister of Finance, Hon Colm Imbert, MP, wishes to advise that in accordance with Section 2 of the Exchequer and Audit Act, Chap. 69:01 and Regulation 3 of the Financial Regulations, he has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Mc Donald Jacob as the Accounting Officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service from October 15th, 2021, until further notice. It is to be noted that DCoP Jacob was confirmed by the Parliament in his substantive position of Deputy Commissioner of Police in April 2021.”
Jacob was acting in the post of Police Commissioner until it became null and void on Thursday following a High Court judgement.
