Hillview Gets Most Scholarships

HILLVIEW College in Tunapuna won the most scholarships and the two President’s Gold Medals based on the results of the 2023 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).

The scholarships in the ten (10) cognate groups were awarded solely based on academic performance, a release from the Ministry of Education stated on Thursday.

It stated, “For academic year 2022/2023, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) awarded 100 scholarships comprising 45 Open and 55 Additional Scholarships, based on the results of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) 2023.”

The two President’s Medals went to Hillview students Ryker Harricharan and Nishka Maharaj. Both were friends from kindergarten. Harricharan was Hillview’s valedictorian and its graduation a few weeks ago while Maharaj is the granddaughter of former Hillview principal the late Richard Kokaram.

Harricharan was the top performing student in Environmental Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Maharaj is the top performing student in Business Studies, Creative and Performing Studies, General Studies, Language Studies, Modern Studies/Humanities and Technical Studies.
