CLAXTON BAY – AN accident along the Solomon Hochoy Highway on Saturday night has claimed the life of a yet unidentified man.
The accident near the Claxton Bay flyover caused a traffic jam just after midnight on Friday. Three people were also injured.
Police said the accident occurred around 12.17 a.m. Saturday along the south bound lane of the highway.
Reports indicate that a white sports utility vehicle collided with a silver Nissan Almera car.
A passenger, who was thrown from the car onto the roadway, died at the scene.
Fire officers of Mon Repos Fire Station and officers of the Highway Patrol Unit and St Margaret’s Police Station responded.
Police said the driver of the car was trapped inside the vehicle, suffered severe injuries and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital in serious condition.
Two other people remain warded.
